The Garvan Institute of Medical Research brings together clinicians with world-leading basic and translational researchers. Founded in 1963, Garvan’s researchers have made significant advances in genome, epigenome, protein and cell analysis technology. Research at Garvan is focused upon understanding the role of genes and molecular and cellular processes in health and disease as the basis for developing future preventions, treatments and cures.
The Sydney Knowledge Hub is an research commercialisation and industry engagement hub in the heart of the University of Sydney campus. It is for small and medium businesses working with the University, and for researchers bringing their inventions to market. The Hub helps researchers build strong partnerships with industry by providing a collaboration space and an innovation ecosystem to improve commercialisation outcomes.
The Life Sciences Innovation Export Hub in Queensland has been established through a collaboration with Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Life Sciences Queensland (LSQ) and the Australia Asia Technology Incubator (AATI), supported by the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science’s SME Export Hub Program. The collaboration aims to develop Queensland’s life sciences sector by providing program participants with tools to accelerate the commercialisation of their research and technology.
Founded in 2015 by Dr Brian Fox, Needle Genomics develop and maintain a gene expression atlas web application and utilize proprietary algorithms to solve clinical diagnostic challenges. Dr Fox is a bioinformaticist with experience in target discovery, biomarkers and translational research for autoimmune diseases and immuno-oncology. He is also a Strategic Bioinformatics Partner here at OrthoDx.
The The Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland (ORIQL) is a non-profit, registered charity conducting clinical & scientific research in the fields of Orthopaedic Surgery & Musculoskeletal Medicine. Working in partnership with James Cook University, The Townsville Hospital & the Mater Hospital Pimlico, to develop & conduct research programs. ORIQL provides a conduit for pre-vocational orthopaedic trainees to conduct clinical research and offers arthroplasty & sports medicine fellowships.
